Something Wicked This Way Comes

October has arrived! It's my favorite time of the year, and I've been enjoying it since the beginning of September. I've been living off of pumpkin creme cold brew that is a billion times better than a PSL in my opinion.

Exciting news! I'm doing a blog tour with Ashley and Emily! There's going to be a link-up, flash fiction, fall-themed posts, aesthetic lists, and all that fun stuff. So I hope you guys will check out all the posts, I think we'll be starting on the 14th and through till the end of the month.

Happenings


I was staying at my best friend's house for most of September, and we ended up watching a slew of fall-ish shows. I finally watched all of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norwell, which was spectacular and is getting its own review post. If you like creepy faeries, magic, and an intriguing story. I highly recommend it.

We also binged watched Derry Girl's (tons of language), Gilmore Girls, Kamisama Kiss (utter Shoujo trash, but love the characters)

We watched a bunch of movies too, I faced a childhood fear with the old 'It' not as scary as I thought it was going to be. Though it was weird to see John Boy from The Waltons in it (and his ponytail was nightmare-inducing) We also watched The Accountant (Sooo Good), Detective Pikachu (Amazing), and The Bad Samaritan (Not one I would recommend because of content, David Tennant plays a good bad guy. And Robert Sheehan is flawless, but we knew that)

We made a fall-themed cake, it turned out really pretty. But needed to be eaten with coffee because it was super sweet. Basically, we had a blast. (I miss her so much)

Art

When I got home, the Wacom tablet I had asked for my birthday was waiting for me. I have been wanting to do digital art since I used to watch the behind the scenes on all my Disney VHS's. So I kinda flipped out.

I've done two pictures so far, it's been a blast just messing around. Morgana took three days, which was tedious. Kaz took one caffeine-induced night and turned out better so I don't know what that means.

Writing
I only wrote a few paragraphs last month, and as much as I would like to remedy that this month. It's turning out to be a bit hectic. So I'm going to attempt to I guess but besides the flash fiction piece, I'm not sure. It's a mess, but here's a small snippet from Fool's Bet.

 A wispy mist shrouds us and the formidable estate. Glaring white marble walls cut through it. Resembling bleached bones standing stark amidst all the greenery around it. Trimmed vines cling to the edges and to the looming windows that take up most of the front of the mansion. It’s well maintained, but left to grow. A speck of wildness that’s prevalent throughout all of the grounds and gardens.

It’s present in anything to do with the fae. It’s the marrow, as much as we try to hide our true nature, it always peaks through. No amount of elegance and wealth can cover it. Our essence is rooted in the earth.
