Also eating, drawing, writing, and occasionally reading. It's strange I was prepared to lock myself in my room for the entirety of Nano only coming out for emergencies or snack breaks. I've actually been unusually social with my family. I've been watching shows with all of them and occasionally joining random family discussions. It's disgusting.
I read two books as well. I mean how am I being productive right now? I don't read that much when I don't have a looming deadline. I have a fairly full TBR that I've started on, I also want to finish up ASOUE books, because I want to finish them before the 3rd season airs.
Moriarty was really good, the author did go to great lengths to stay true to Arthur Conan Doyle's style, it was compelling. I did figure out the big twist long before the end. Still enjoyed it!
The Creeping Shadow killed me, Lockwood & CO are my children and I might have cried, also they were eating Prawn Cocktail crisps, which I remember loving in London, so I ordered a bag. (My Dad might have laughed at me for buying an 8 dollar bag of chips. it's worth it to me)
I went and saw Christopher Robin with my little siblings, we all enjoyed it. They can't decide if I'm more like Piglet or Eeyore. A bit of both maybe.
It's kind of funny because this week of Nano was completely different to the first week. The first week I would finish fairly early and exercise. Get away from the screen. This week has been late nights, junk food, and barely making it. I'm living off of caffeine and spite, but that's normal for me. Oh and Wendy's chicken strips, I'm addicted. It's bad.
Tomorrow I should be a 25,000 words and I'm not sure how I feel about that. The reasons being as follows.
- it's 25,000 words in and nothing has happened. At least nothing super important.
- It's one big ramble and way too much summary, rather than things actually happening.
- Nothing reads how I want it to.
- I haven't even looked at my outline and notes, so much for plotting.
- The characters are all acting out of character.
- It's awful.
So I'm exhausted but happy because I'm actually writing it makes for a strange mix. Also a very slapdash post.
The only other things of note this week are-
Stan Lee passed away and I'm really sad about it. He gave us so many amazing characters, and I will always be grateful.
Loki is getting a tv show!!! It's been confirmed and I'm incredibly happy about it!
Good job, Skye! Way to go in being on track with word count AND socializing, reading, and the other important things.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry if it's a mess. You'll get it!
Thanks Maddie! It's all becoming exhausting. I'll try not too. You will too!
Delete*applauds your productivity* Way to go, girl!! You're nailing it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel like I'm dying XD
DeleteYou're doing so great! Keep it up dear! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Vanessa! <3
Delete"I've actually been unusually social with my family. I've been watching shows with all of them and occasionally joining random family discussions. It's disgusting." Lol I laughed really hard at this!! Same. I am very excited the Loki show. It is something I didn't know I needed until now!! Good luck on the rest of your NaNo!!!
ReplyDeleteLilah
Well I'm glad you found it funny, no one in my family really appreciates my sense of humor. XD
DeleteSame! I think it's going to be good. Thank you!!!
You are doing so well!!!! You have come this far and you can make it the rest of the way!
ReplyDeleteIt was so sad to hear that Stan Lee died. Superheros are awesome and he gave us so many.
Thank you! I hope so!
DeleteIt was! I didn't expect to get as upset as I did.
Hey! I just stumbled across your blog and thought I'd say 'hey.' Sadly I've never been able to do Nano since I'm always in between projects (or in the middle of one!) when Nano starts.
ReplyDeleteKeeping fighting this November! <3
Hey, thanks for reading and following! I appreciate it. This is my first time actually committing to it, not sure I will do it again. It's pretty stressful.
DeleteThank you! <3
Congrats!! You're doing great. <3 <3
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gray! <3
DeleteYOU ARE DOING SO AMAZING!!!!! Congrats on hitting (and now surpassing!) the halfway point! :D :D :D Though I feel you on the writing feeling awful. I'm pretty sure every single one of my dialogue action beats have been "she smiled" or "his stomach lurched". XDD BUT, what matters is we ARE getting words on the page and making progress with our stories. Thankfully, editing is a thing! Though, often, what we think is bad writing, ends up being not nearly as bad as we thought once we go back to it. So keep rocking it, girl. You're doing awesome!
ReplyDelete(Also Stan Lee's death seriously made me almost cry. D': )
(Also also a Loki TV show??? Like a cartoon or...what? I HAVE NOT HEARD THIS! :O)
Well compared to the way you write during Nano I have to disagree, YOU ARE AMAZING! Like I can't believe your word count, it's incredible. You've been inspiring me, so thanks for that! I've done my fair share of that too, it's funny the ways I try to beef up my word count. Yup, I would be lost without editing. That's true, I'll try to remember that.
DeleteThanks! I will!
(Same, I was so sad)
(Yes!!!!! It's live action and Tom Hiddleston will be in it! :D)
You got this, girl!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I have about 23K of writing that is totally not plot-related...and it's all I got. I keep hoping that a plot will show up one of these days....LOL.
Catherine
Thanks Catherine!
DeleteIt's rough! I keep telling myself I can fix it later, but I'm not sure there is much to fix. Fingers crossed XD
*waves pom poms* You've got this Skye, you're making strong progress!!! <3 (Also I can't wait for you to read Fawkes and tell me how you feel about it. xD)
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa! It feels like I'm making a mess more than anything. I'm really excited for that one! :D
DeleteOh, I have that Moriarty book! Maybe I've had it for nearly two years . . . yeah, should probably read that.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sad about Stan Lee. He made a huge difference in so many people's lives. If someone says "they're just comics," I will fight them no matter how big they are thus they will learn how he could inspire people.
WAIT. Did you say Loki's getting his own . . . LSLKEKA;GKHHER;TGHRE!
This isn't April Fool's, right?
Ok, it's autumn.
Oh my word. I am going to die. Finally.
You should, it was actually pretty good. I had it for about that long too. I know, it was and still is so sad. Me too, he touched so many people.
DeleteYESSS! I know I have been so excited for it!
Nope!
Yup!
ME TOO! That was my reaction.
