1. How long have you been writing this story?
Too long! About a year and a half. Which is sadly typical of me. It's been murder to write and I've been avoiding it a lot. I've been procrastinating and stewing. I just really want it to be good.
2. Who’s your favorite character? Why?
I'm going to say Chayse right now, because I've been figuring out his issues. He's dealing with PTSD in this one, and I love that he's like Dustfinger's broken love child.
3. Which character do you consider the “goodest of the good”?
Oooh, that's a tough one actually. Most of my characters bad sides come out in this one. I'd have to say Teddy, he's the purest. He wants the best for everyone.
4. Which character is the “baddest of the bad”?
Another tough one. I'm going to say Alilion.
Cynfael's father. He's the northern fae king and a fairly monstrous one at that. Of course he had to go and show me a different side of him, so I now feel slightly sympathetic to him. Only slightly..
5. If you were to have tea (or coffee!) with one character, which one would you pick? Why?
Cynfael, we would have an interesting conversation. Drink Irish coffee's till we told each other all our secrets.
6. Describe your storyworld.
It's gilded in gold, marble, and blood. Magic is everywhere, coating everything. (That's the ideal anyway)
7. You’ve fallen into your book! Which place would you be happiest at?
It wouldn't be safe at all, but probably Rookshire. It's gorgeous and I would want to paint it. Most likely wouldn't last a week there.
8. Which place would you like to avoid at all costs? (Or, explore to know its secrets a little bit better?)
Rookshire, Humans are treated as a resource rather than people.
9. Share an aesthetic!
10. Share a snippet!
The pain had dulled, subsided into an almost unnoticeable
ache. The soft bite served to remind me that magic cost. Even if the affects
weren’t always apparent. They were there, permanent as scars. It was
never free.
Hope this was a fun peak at Fool's Bet.
Woahh, cool snippet!! I think it’s really difficult to have a consistent favorite character. So many are so amazing and talented, while others are funny or quick witted.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! It is! Exactly, how do you choose?
DeleteOkay so this post was BEAUTIFUL child and I love it <3
ReplyDeleteOh, don't you LOVE it when your villainous character presents their soft side and you're like "DARN IT NOW I HAVE TO FEEL BAD FOR YOU?!" I do that so much (as you know from that one scene I sent you, hahaha) and it's ANNOYING as anything to deal with xD
And that snippet. <3 <3 :'( I need to start reading Fool's Bet if we're being honest... xD
Omigoodness thank you, Faith! <3
DeleteYesss! It is beyond frustrating, but I'm glad your character did that because now I have all these emotions about it. XD

LIKE THIS STORY. BECAUSE YESSS. I'm also so curious how Alilion is making you feel sympathetic toward him. o.o Dis gonna be gooood.
ReplyDeleteAlso also that snippet. Those aesthetics. *dies* I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS.
OMIGOODNESS!!! XD Yes, finish Burning Thorns! That is definitely more important, finish that! You can dooo it.
DeleteAww, I'm glad my story is counted among the things. I'm so surprised that he was able to do that. I hated him.
Hopefully. XD

ReplyDeleteAnytime someone talks about magic having a cost I just hear Rumple giggling "All magic comes with a price!!!"
Thank you so much! My new favorite comment!!!

DeleteALWAYS, ALWAYS LOVE MORE FROM THIS STORY. EEEP.
ReplyDeleteYup, I definitely believe that Cynfael's dad is the worst of the worst. And I adore the way you described your storyworld. You should save that somewhere because it is genius.
