Rambles

 It's been awhile.

I honestly didn't plan on taking any kind of break. Life just kinda hit me at full speed this year. Just when I was planning on getting back to blogging a few of my sisters came for a surprise visit and then one decided to stay for a few months. So it was a lot of late-night movies, copious cups of coffee, and absurd happenings.

The restrictions lifted in our province! (fingers crossed they don't bring them back) Still waiting for them to lift the federal mandates, it's been at the top of my prayer list.

We celebrated by getting bubble tea. And going to see 'The Batman' which I adored an outrageous amount. It's stunning. So grungey and noir. I love the lenses they used and how crisp it was, the sets made me want to paint endlessly and an emo batman was really everything I've ever wanted.

March was a full month, I got my eyebrows threaded, dyed my hair blonde (at least half of it), and got covid. In that order too. ( For the record we got covid from someone we know and not the unmasked masses.)

Still in the recovery process with that one. We all seem to have a cough that just won't die. It was pretty rough. To the point where both my sister and I were lying side by side unable to concentrate on anything, so we made bad jokes and laughed until we fell asleep. We also sent each other a lot of tik toks.  And googled our various symptoms.

I didn't think I'd ever use Tik-Tok but here we are.

I finally got my appetite back, and have stopped popping Tylenol every six hours. I haven't had coffee in five days. I'm craving everything but the only thing my cousin and I have the energy to make is canned soups and instant oatmeal. Would commit murder for a cheeseburger.

Missing the days when we were sipping starlight coke, eating lemon cake pops, and obsessing over Sebastian Stan's recent acting choices. Anyone else catch him as a drummer, a cannibal named Steve, and a double agent. I love that he does a bit of everything. He's anything but boring.

While I was sick, no less than three albums dropped, all my library books came in, and some anticipated dramas dropped. So I have plenty to catch up on.

What have I missed?

  1. Cool drawing, I've gone back and forth on seeing the movie. I went to see Spider Man: No Way Home in theaters, but those are some of my favorites.

I feel like I've been out of the blogging world for a bit too, work/commute kind of caused me to fall off of reading and blogging and really focusing. But I'm hoping to come back soon.

I hope you get all your appetite and energy back.

    1. Thanks! I still need to finish that one I've seen about an hour of it. It was pretty good though.

Same, I can't seem to get back into it. Going to try to do something fun for spring.

      Thanks! I did. :D

  2. It's good to hear from you! But man, I'm sorry you've been so sick. That definitely does not sound like a good time. I do hope you'll be feeling back to 100% soon and can drink ALL the coffee and consume a dozen cheeseburgers. <3 I'm glad you at least had some goodness before it hit you. Here's hoping to a most beautiful April!

(Also, I've yet to see The Batman, but that sketch is giving me all the heart-eyes. So good!)

  3. I'm sorry to hear you had COVID! That sounds like no fun at all. But I hope you're feeling better! It almost sounds like fun, though, being sick with a sister...even if it was miserable, hopefully some good memories came out of it. :)

  4. That doodle of the Batman is really cool! I haven't seen it yet, I'm curious about Pattinson as Batman, but personally I hate Cat Woman so I have a hard time getting past the fact that she is in this movie.

So sorry that you were so sick with Covid. I thought I had a head cold when I caught Covid, but then five days later I lost my taste and smell and was just like, crud. Fortunately it started coming back slowly only a few days later. But fair warning, about three months after Covid I lost like a TON of hair, probably a third of it, so just a heads up that can be a long term affect of Covid. And if it does start happening, don't stress too much (I know I did) but it's temporary and my hair is now regrowing albeit quite slowly.

    1. Thanks so much! It's really good, I loved it! I'm usually not a fan of her either but I really liked her in this one, they have great chemistry. And they gave her a personality.

Thanks, it was worse than I thought it was going to be. Yeah the taste thing is awful. Same here. Omigoodness sorry that happened to you, hope I can avoid it. I already shed so much hair from stress. That's good glad it was only a temporary thing.

  5. I still can't believe they finally made the emo trash can boi Batman I've always wanted. I can't wait to see it.
Ha, careful what you say you adamantly hate and would never use, you usually end up enjoying XD
Glad you guys are doing better! That sounded awful
