I've been listening to this song for a week straight. It's setting the tone for my fall playlist and I have been taking some inspiration especially style-wise from her old movies so it's especially fitting.
I watched Beetlejuice for the first time mainly for the Halloween vibe it seemed to have but stayed for Lydia. I don't know why I love the gothic style so much.
I've been wanting to chop a good portion of my hair off, just the thought of it makes my mother shudder, but if anything seeing Winona rock the shorter styles is just encouraging me. Will I end up regretting it if I do, probably but I still want to do it. Probably not till November though.
I've been getting ready for fall, I have scrunchies (thanks to Elizabeth), red lipstick, and my mom gave me a gorgeous plaid coat, that's a mix of these soft rust colors. I want to make my color palette for this year. ( I might post pictures in it eventually)
I still haven't moved yet, but I will be soon hopefully.
I'm reading All the Crooked Saints it's so different from The Raven Boys but I like it. I also just finished Lila Kim's Dusted Red soooo good. Love how she weaved in so many fairytales, but somehow made it all original and unique.
I've been watching far too many things to list them all here, and some of them weren't even worth listing, buuuut I've been unhealthy obsessed with The Punisher and Daredevil I accidentally watched them out of order not that it matters. They're both super brutal and dark, but also amazing. I am super emotional and attached to Frank Castle and now Matt Murdock, but my absolute favorite thing was Frank and Amy. I love the Dad troupe, it's everywhere and I'm not complaining.
Catch me lying in the trash with Matt Murdock cuz these shows have broken me.
I saw The Book Theif and Jo Jo Rabbit which were so different tonally but both amazing stories about the holocaust. ( Both made me incredibly emotional.)
I also just discovered Wes Anderson movies and just the cinematography and colors are gorgeous. They are quirky though so I could see people disliking them. I watched Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom. Both are set in Autumn and I really enjoyed them.
Sorry for this messy post.
Basically, I've been drinking cider and dreaming of corn mazes, but summer doesn't seem ready to go yet, and I can't blame it.
A favorite youtuber, Lauren Johnson posted a transitional wardrobe for fall, and that is kind of how i've been viewing this season. I mean I was boiling today, but next week is 10 degrees cooler although that could be a "false" fall. Last year we didn't have fall until the end of October so I'm not getting my hopes up nor do I want to rush it. I've sorted my make up to fall colors, and I have my fall nail polishes picked out. Fall and Winter clothes are ready as and my boots are gettting polished. I've been going through Fairytale Central's lists of all the various fairytale retellings, so I think those will be my major fall reads. I think I've saved some fall movies from last year.
ReplyDeleteI think all over the place posts are fun. I'm all over the place in my comment to.
I love the fall look books, I'll have to watch some of her stuff. It's been about the same here. I hope not.
DeleteThat's good, it's always best to just enjoy the seasons as they come.
Ooo love that. I don't have many clothes ready yet, I'm still working on finding a pair of boots.
Great idea! I've found a few I think. I'm trying to find some new things.
Thanks! I think I prefer it too. :)
Love this!!
ReplyDeleteUsing a young Winona Ryder as inspiration is a whole mood
Thanks!!
DeleteIt seemed fitting. XD
Sounds like you got some fall colors going. The plaid coat sounds cool. I love plaid! :) The song is great! It fits your post. I listen to it while I read. Enjoy September!
ReplyDeleteI really don't want it to get cold. So I'm hanging on to the warm days.

Trying to at least. Thanks, I'll have to post it at some point. Same! :D
DeleteThanks, I was hoping it would. You too!
Aww well there seems to be a few left. :)
It's just starting to feel like fall where I live. The leaves are just starting to change colors, and it's been in the '70s most days. A week ago it snowed, and three days after that it was 80 degrees. *sighs* Crazy weather.
ReplyDeleteI read The Book Thief a few months ago, but still haven't seen the movie. Is it good? I really want to see Heathers and Beetlejuice (mostly because I'm obsessed with the Broadway musicals, but whatever). Would you recommend them?
I love your fall wardrobe. It just makes me think of fall (which is probably the point).
I think you'd look great with short hair. I wore my hair short for several years. It feels weird at first (especially if you've had long hair for awhile), but it's so worth it.
It's always so cool when it slowly creeps in. Wow, it's still practically summer where I am. Sounds crazy.
DeleteI'm super excited to read it, I liked it but I'm not sure how it holds up with the book. It was good though.
If you like the musicals I think you would like the movies. Beetlejuice is definitely strange and a very Tim Burton movie, so if you like that kinda thing then yes. Heathers has a lot of content and language so I don't know if I would recommend it, it's very much a personal taste thing. I enjoyed both.
Thank you! XD
I hope so, I really want to cut it, but everyone is trying to convince me that I'll look like a boy. I think it will be worth it.
Oh, definitely.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was really crazy, but it was a nice break from all the hot weather, so I'm not complaining.
Okay, cool. I'll have to look into both of those. Content doesn't really bother me, and I like strange movies, so I'd probably like both of them.
I thought it was worth it. The only annoying part for me was that everyone kept saying, "OMG, you cut your hair", which meant I kept having to resist saying, "No, the lady at the hair salon cut it." Maybe that's just me, though.
:)
DeleteOh true.
You'll probably love them then.
XD Oh yeah people like to do that.
I've only seen two movie with Winona Ryder and they are Little Women (love it so much!!!!! <3) and Edward Scissorhands (which is so weird and has a strange aesthetic, and I'm not sure what I think of it.). I am mildly interested in Beetlejuice now...
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic fall, Skye!
Ooo yes such a good movie! Weird and strange but I love it too for some reason.
DeleteBeetlejuice is definitely more like that one than Little Women. XD
You too!
Beetlejuice and Fantastic Mr. Fox are a couple of my all time favorites - I could watch them any time of the year. :)
ReplyDeleteTheir both so good! Same. :D
